You’ve procrastinated and ruminated and dilly-dallied for weeks. Still, you don’t have gifts for the content marketer or writer in your life. Now you’re in a mental panic, sweat beading up on your brow (despite the cold) and you’re breathing rapidly, almost hyperventilating.
Calm down. Breathe in a paper bag or something.
Writers and content marketers will actually use and appreciate any of these gifts. Pick one and be done!
Watson-Guptill Sketchbook – content marketers, journalists, and writers of any type will love these high quality sketchbooks for journaling, random thoughts, notes, and brainstorming sessions. The best thing about them is that if you’re the type who likes to paste clips or photos into your notebooks, the pages are sturdy and unlined. They come in several different colors and have archival-quality, blank paper inside their hard covers. It’s like giving your special content marketer the gift of creativity and flow in a tidy package.
Lego Style MacBook Keyboard Decal – Add some color to your writer’s life with these colorful keyboard decals and protectors for his or her MacBook. Their easily removed and leave zero residue, plus, they’re waterproof and greaseproof. You know your writer eats and drinks at the laptop. Why not protect the keys on that expensive laptop? Oh, and it doesn’t occlude the backlight on the keyboard. Everyone at the local Starbucks will be green with color-envy!
Subscription to BundlePost – This content curation tool aggregates, schedules, and hashtags social media content effortlessly. Content marketers who handle multiple social media profiles and platforms will go wild when they begin using this remarkable tool. BundlePost can save your content marketer hours per day by taking over the back office tasks, allowing him or her to focus on engaging in a meaningful way with friends and followers. Consider giving a gift subscription of 3 to 6 months or more. Trust me, your gift will be the best under the tree!
Stimulating Drinks & Food – Get your content marketing expert a gift card from Starbucks, Panera Bread, or other trendy hot spot with free wi-fi. It’s always nice to get out of the home office and work in a café or coffee shop for a change of scenery. A generously filled gift card will allow your wonderful writer to take a jaunt out in public once in a while. Gasp!
Mind Mapping Software – Mind maps are a great way to enhance productivity and unleash creativity by utilizing all the cognitive brain functions in a holistic way. My favorite is Tony Buzan’s iMindMap because the look and versatility of the map elements are the best I’ve seen. I use it for every aspect of my business and even many areas of my personal life. iMindMap works with Windows, Mac, and mobile platforms.
Noise Cancelling Headphones – These will set you back some bank, if you know what I mean, but they can prove invaluable to a content marketer or journalist who works from home. From eliminating the sound of the neighbor’s dog to drowning out the sound of that Harley coming down the road, they’ll get your writing professional in the zone. I like the Bose headphones the best, but they’ll suck $299 out of your wallet and that’s before tax. I’ve heard that Sony makes a nice, much more affordable version, but I haven’t tried them. I can only vouch for the excellence of the Bose. They rock!
LiveScribe Pen – While I don’t have one of these – yet – I hope to unwrap one on Christmas morning. It digitally records words you write and also records voice. So, you can write in longhand and make voice recordings, then upload the files to your computer. Download MyScribe software and use it translate your handwriting into text. Voila!
Scrivener – I’ve written about Scrivener before and I’ll probably do it again. It’s the ultimate writer’s software and costs less than half a Ben Franklin. You can keep all of your information in one place: notes, images, articles, research, and your original writing. It’s the perfect tool for writing a book or working on any type of writing project that requires research, notes, images, and other resources.
Pandora Bracelet & Charms – The beauty and timeless elegance of Pandora jewelry is enough to inspire any writer, journalist, or content marketer to reach their ultimate productivity and potential. OK, so a gold Pandora bracelet doesn’t directly benefit writers – especially male writers. I just thought I’d slip that in there because this little trinket is something I’ve been stalking for awhile now.
